Regional And Local Development Project - RLDP | Introduction

Preparation has begun for Regional and local development project in 2004, there were several visits to the World Bank mission in charge of this project to Jordan to meet with the concerned bodies in this project, the Ministry of Local Administration , Ministry of Planning and cities and villages development bank and others interested in the implementation of the project.
It was agreed to Mandate an international consultancy firm to prepare the preparatory studies for the project and studies were actually completed at a cost of about one million.
The cost of regional and Local Development Project is around (50.5) million, a loan from the World Bank and a loan and a grant from the French Development Agency and contribution of the treasury in the project 2007-2011.

Project Development Objective
 
  • Improving the equity and adequacy of central-local resource transfers.
  • Restructuring CVDB to improve its efficiency and diversity its products and services.
  • Strengthening municipal financial management, revenue generation and service delivery capacity.
  • Improving regional planning and inter-municipal coordination to take advantage of economies of scale and strategic development opportunities.
